Search For Happiness

 What is Happiness?
  • Happiness is meeting old friends
  • Happiness is spending time with parents, kids, romancing with wife or husband.
  • Happiness is watching movies, going to restaurants, trips.
  • Dressing well for a party.
  • Having a good haircut, shopping etc.
  • Buying new gadgets, iphones, Samsung S8. Etc.
But the question is ARE WE REALLY HAPPY?????
THIS IS ALL WHAT WE NEED IN OUR LIFE????????
ARE THESE THE PERMANENT SOURCE OF HAPPINESS???????????????

Here is the lesson taught by Lord Krishna to Arjun in Bhagavad Gita :

"Every one of us is searching after happiness, but we do not know what real happiness is. We see so much advertised about happiness, but practically speaking we see so few happy people. This is because so few people know that the platform of real happiness is beyond temporary things".

One day Professor entered the classroom and said to students that today there will be a surprise test. Professor then distributed sheets to the whole class. Students got surprised after seeing the question paper because there were no questions on the sheet except the black dot on the middle of the sheet.

The Professor said your test is to write about what you see on the sheet.

Some of the students got clueless, some started writing about the black dot.

After one hour professor collected the sheets.

After checking the sheets of the students, he said ‘Everyone wrote about the black dot but nobody wrote anything about the white sheet’.

Students got surprised that what professor meant to say.

"Professor explained we all go through the bad phase in our life, we keep thinking about it, our mind is consumed with lot of negativity. Not focusing on what we have or what is positive in our life but focusing what went wrong in our life, or what we don’t have".

Similarly everyone wrote about black dot (which symbolizes negativity) and nobody focused on the white sheet (which symbolizes positivity).

Hence the moral of the story is
  • Focus on good that is happening in our life and deal with the problems that our happening in our life.
  • Let us not consume our mind with negativity.
  • Let us consume our minds with positivity.
  • Count your many blessings and name them one by one. It shall surprise you what the lord has done.
  • Let us be thankful for what we have.
Therefore "GRATITUDE IS THE ATTITUDE WHICH GIVES THE FORTITUDE" to deal with the toughest challenges in our life".

"Remember we are responsible for our happiness, nobody else".
